Lacrosse Equipment
New to lacrosse? Or looking to upgrade? Here are some recommendations for the gear you'll need!
NEEDS: Stick, Goggles, Mouthguard
Optional: All the rest!
Lacrosse Stick
All players need their own stick!
Brand/Cost: This one pictured is called the STX Crux 400 and is great for beginner/intermediate players 5th grade and up. Usually around $115 unless you find on sale. All adult sticks are around the same size. See other stick option for youth players below.
Quality: Much better than the cheapy ones for $50-$80, and won't break the bank (some sticks can be up to $300+)
Where to buy: HERE or
Really anywhere online, just google the name of the stick! In-store Dick's usually has.
**Note - Do not buy boys lacrosse sticks for girls. They may look similar but at a closer look, you'll see boy's sticks have a deep pocket and are illegal for girls.
Miami SOL Gear!
Everyone should rock our gear!! :) Plus with anything you buy, 10% comes back to the program in fundraising!!
Store is open 24/7 and items ship very quick!!
Youth/Junior Stick
Players under 5th grade THIS junior stick is my favorite. It's a great quality for a great price. You can get some for cheaper, but they will usually be harder to learn with.
Cost: $70

Lacrosse Goal
Again, if you have the space, a goal in the yard is great to practice shooting! There are different ones I would recommend based on the space you have and how portable you want it to be, as well as cost, so reach out to us for any recommendations on this!
Goggles
All players need their own goggles!
Cost/Quality: $40-$80 depending on brand/type. Usually the more expensive, the more comfortable they will be, but honestly any are fine!
**5th grade and up usually get adult, under get the youth.

Anywhere online or in-store at Dick's
Sidenotes: If you play for your HS team, you will get helmets during season and give them back at the end. School affiliated teams require helmets, but for club, most wear goggles. Wearing a helmet would be a personal choice if you wanted, and you can find those online as well!
Cleats
They are not mandatory, but we play on grass, so highly recommended.
Type: ANY cleats are fine! Lacrosse cleats come in low or high top. It's personal preference which you get. The high tops have better ankle support.

Anywhere online or in-store at Dicks
Soccer cleats are also just fine.
Lacrosse Balls
All players should have balls to practice at home! Official girls lacrosse balls are yellow (for games), but you can get any to practice at home!

Mouth Guard
All players need a mouth guard! These not only protect your teeth but also against concussions.
Brand Recommendation/Cost:
SISU - they are about $25 and my personal favorite. The holes in it make it the most breathable out there while still being safe. They are also safe to mold over braces.
**5th grade and up usually get adult size, under get the youth.

Any other brand is fine as well. Even the cheap $3 ones. But they are usually bulky and more uncomfortable. I recommend getting a few cheap ones, mold them, and carry as backups in case you ever lose your main one.
Intermediate/Advanced Stick
Looking to upgrade? There are MANY out there but this Signature Brand one is my favorite for the cost and quality. It's a great stick and cheaper than most other elite level sticks. It also has a lifetime warranty which is great.
Cost: $170 (others can be up to $300+)

Lacrosse Rebounder (Bounce Back)
If you have space in your yard, a rebounder is a great option! This allows players to practice throwing and catching skills right at home by themselves whenever they want!
